Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Laguna Legal collects when you use this website, what it is used for, who it is shared with and the choices you have. It applies to lagunalegal.com in English and Spanish.
Effective September 11, 2026.
Who we are
The firm responsible for your information
This website is operated by Milagros Millie Laguna, P.A., doing business as Laguna Legal, a family-law practice at Sunset Center, 10300 Sunset Drive, Building 300, Suite 323, Miami, FL 33173. The firm decides how information collected through the site is used and is the point of contact for any question about this policy.
This policy covers the website only. Information you provide after the firm agrees to represent you is handled under your engagement agreement and the confidentiality rules that apply to Florida attorneys, which offer stronger protection than this policy.
Information we collect
What we receive, and how
You can read every page of this site without giving us any personal information. We receive information in three ways.
- The consultation request form: your name, email address and phone number; the type of matter; the county where the matter is pending or expected and any upcoming hearing or response date, if you provide them; your preferred language and contact method; whether you have a court date or have been served; and an optional brief message.
- Direct contact: whatever you choose to share when you call, email or write to the office, and the contact details you use to do so.
- Technical information: when a page loads, our hosting provider records the requesting IP address, browser type, requested page, referring page and time in server logs, which are used to run and secure the site. Analytics data is described in its own section below.
The form does not ask for, and should not be used to send, confidential details about your case, documents or anything that requires immediate action. Call the office instead.
How we use it
Only to respond to you and run the site
Information from the consultation form and from direct contact is used to respond to your inquiry, to check for conflicts of interest before a consultation is scheduled, to reach you by the method and in the language you chose, and to keep a record of the inquiry.
Technical and analytics information is used to keep the site working, to detect abuse, and to understand in aggregate which pages are read and whether visitors reach the contact page.
Laguna Legal does not sell personal information, does not share it for advertising purposes and does not add you to any marketing or newsletter list. Any email you receive from the firm relates to a request you made.
Confirmation emails
A safety measure for injunction matters
After a form submission, the site normally sends one confirmation email to the address you entered, in your preferred language, summarizing the type of matter and contact method you chose. It contains no other details.
No confirmation email is sent when the matter selected is a domestic violence or stalking injunction. A message from a law firm in an inbox that someone else can see could put you at risk. The office still receives your request and will contact you by the method you chose. If it is not safe to receive calls or email, say so in the message or call the office directly at 305-270-7477.
Retention
How long information is kept
Consultation requests are kept for as long as needed to respond and, afterwards, so that the firm can identify conflicts of interest in future matters, which is a professional obligation. If you become a client, your information becomes part of your file and is kept under the firm’s record-retention practices and Florida Bar rules.
Server logs are retained by the hosting provider for a short period for security purposes. Google Analytics keeps event-level data for the retention period set in the firm’s account and aggregated reports thereafter.
You may ask the firm to delete your inquiry at any time. The request will be honored except where a record must be kept to meet a legal or professional obligation, in which case you will be told.
Security
How information is protected
The site is served over HTTPS, so what you type in the form is encrypted between your browser and the server. Form submissions are validated on the server, delivered to the office’s email, and are not stored in any database operated by the site.
Access to inquiries is limited to the attorney and staff who need them to respond. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and ordinary email is not encrypted end to end. Do not send documents or sensitive details by email or through the form; the office will tell you how to share them safely once a consultation is arranged.
Your choices
What you can ask of us
Whatever state or country you write from, you may:
- Ask what personal information the firm holds about you and receive a copy.
- Ask that inaccurate information be corrected.
- Ask that your inquiry be deleted, subject to the record-keeping limits described under Retention.
- Opt out of analytics as described under Cookies and analytics.
- Contact the firm by phone or email rather than through the form, at any time.
To make a request, email ml@lagunalegal.com or call 305-270-7477. The firm may need to confirm your identity before acting. There is no charge and no consequence for exercising these choices. Because the firm does not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising, no opt-out is needed for those purposes.
Other information
Children, other websites and changes
This site is intended for adults. The firm does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information through the site, contact the office and it will be deleted.
Pages link to outside resources such as Florida statutes, The Florida Bar and Google Maps. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which the firm does not control.
This policy may be updated when the site or its providers change. The current version is always published at this address with its effective date, and material changes will be indicated here.
